‘Tour d’Italia’ – A Tour through Italy
Our Festival Dinner on Monday 31st August tours Italy’s regions, showcasing the best of Italian food and wine in Australia. Held at Balla at The Star, the dinner will feature CIRA’s Italian chefs cooking a five-course feast, plus Balla’s own Stefano Manfredi hosting.
Start the evening begins with canapés and sparkling wine or a Menabrea beer in Balla’s bar overlooking the city skyline, followed by a feast prepared by CIRA’s celebrity chefs. You’ll be touring Italy’s regions, from Alessandro’s Lombardy, to Giovanni’s Sardinia, Eugenio’s Abruzzo through to Tuscany with Gabriele, finishing in Sicily with Francesco for dessert.
The restaurant sommeliers will be presenting their favourite wines to match, and the chefs will be talking about the most important thing in the world; Italian food! Finish the evening with petit fours and a Manfredi espresso martini!
Chefs include Giovanni Pilu (Pilu at Freshwater), Alessandro Pavoni (Ormeggio), Gabriele Taddeucci (Balla), Eugenio Maiale (A Tavola) and Francesco Spataro (Aperitivo). Matching wine will be selected by Sydney’s top Italian sommeliers, including Jeremy Croft (Ormeggio), Adrian Hall (Pilu at Freshwater), Fabio Sercecchi (Balla) and Manuel Conti (A Tavola).
